I know I know, how will I ever get followers if I myself cannot keep this thing up to date.
Really hope that not allll of you have gone away, and ready to support me still! Its been a really crazy month and I am so stretched across so many projects.
I have been working really hard just to stay updated and on top of things with school. Among long studio hours of darkroom, lighting, and community shooting. I have also spending time: making function ware for my wheel clay class, putting in hours to make a show and fundraiser for photoclub, getting my own stuff ready for shows, class, and contests, and work....which I am sad to say is being neglected :-(
BUT! things are getting a little better around here. Some good news to balance my Chi. I have been approved for some money, which will allow me for a new mac purchase. Which I thank God because my laptop is about to explode. So I will be upgraded to a 24" imac, and I am thrilled! I am also looking for some more sources to help fund with school, my next stop will be grants, hopefully I can find something. If you know of anything or information please email me, it would really help.
Another payoff from some hard work, I have been the top selectee....is that a word?...one of three entrees to partake in Slaton, TX 5th Friday Art Trail. If your from Lubbock it is Salton's version of our First Friday art trail. Very Very stoked for that. The show is in Slaton, Halloween night, and I will be showing my work in Waterspace North I believe.
To add onto that, the following week, for 1st Friday art trail, I got space for photoclub at Sugar Browns Coffee Shop at 50th and Slide. We will be up there all month. So if you are in town please stop by 5th Friday or 1st Friday art trails, the art is sooo worth it!
If you cant make the miles, I will, as time permitted, post my entrees that won the vote for 5th Friday, as well as the pieces I decide to to hang. Pictures of the Halloween event, (i think i am going to be a girl robot), pictures for 1st Friday for sugar browns, and hopefully other artists work for both events.
Things are looking on the up and up, but it hasn't come without all the hard work of everyone, which I greatly appreciate. Plus the patience of all who read my blog. Which brings me to my decision to change my daily post to hopefully weekly, but I wont promise anything. Things need to settle down, and dailyfeed everyday post picture taking was ambitious project. I don't think it was a failure just needs more work, and I consider this blog a success if I still have a few readers left. So thank you.
I will still post work I am currently working on and random tidbits of shooting in my life. I hope y'all will still enjoy my work. This blog is a big outlet for me to show my work and release some stress, so I am ready to get back to it.
Thanks
Jessica
